Commercial Photography
Shortly after I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, I began working as an assistant to experienced photographers in and around Rochester, New York. My degree from RIT was in photographic illustration, which positioned me for advertising photography.
While living in Rochester, I worked at Kodak for several years. I began shooting independently while I was there. This experience was the beginning of my career as a professional advertising photographer. I opened a commercial photographic studio, where I shot several of the images at the links below.
Despite the time I spent in this career, it was not as rewarding as pursuing the more refined and creative outlet as a fine art photographer. So in the early 1990s I began creating fine art photography. That work can be seen in the Fine Art Photography section. Specifically I was painting on my negatives and prints. Those images can be seen at: Hand-Painted Images.
