Xian was very dusty. I came into town by bus from the airport. As I passed by the small towns, street cleaners wearing masks were cleaning the streets with long straw brooms. It appeared to me that they were creating more dust rather than cleaning the streets. I visited a silk rug manufacturer and another temple and a former palace of the Emperor's concubines. But the most interesting things that I saw were the Terra Cotta Soldiers. This monument to the First Emperor Chin held thousands of life-sized soldiers. To end the evening in Xian, I saw a musical and had dinner at a local theater.
