This city is an interesting mix between old world and modern, yet still in places has the feeling from Soviet Union occupation left over since 1992. The capital of the Czech Republic, this city is very beautiful with several squares functioning as meeting places throughout the city. These squares are connected by narrow streets filled with hundreds of people, shops, and restaurants. The city teems with life.
I crossed the Charles Bridge during the day and at night and climbed 287 steps to the top of the Vitus Cathedral. A riverboat driver toured close to the river’s edge and gave us visitors a different view of the cityscape. At night we ventured out to see plays and other cultural events.
